I am pretty new to writing unit tests and am just experiment with VS2005s capabilities. I wanted to test CRUD methods, and to save on duplication I wanted to call these in order (I gather this is not ideal for TDD – unit tests are supposed to work in total isolation). Tests within the same class are generally called in the order that they exist in the code. However, if you move a method (via cut and paste) – Visual Studio .NET 2005 does not automatically update the test order. The workaround for this is simply to close and reopen Visual Studio or reload the project. (Note – I looked at creating an ordered test, but it turns out that unit tests are still called individually).

Code Coverage and Signed Assemblies
I am running VS2005 Team Edition for Software Developers (version 8.0.50727.42). I was running some unit test and decided to assess code coverage of the tests (by altering the properties of the .testrunconfig file). I experienced the error “Please ensure that the right key file for re-signing after instrumentation is specified in the test run configuration”. After some investigation, it turns out that my version of VS2005 does not support code analysis on signed assemblies.
